Michael Smith and Kay Salmon opened the practice in Ipswich in 1990. Their aim was establish a small business to provide a flexible, personal and holistic service for their clients. A general practice which was approachable and realistic with costs quickly developed.
Michael was late to a career in law, having started his working life as a civil servant working for the Ministry of Overseas Development in London, as a Cartographic Draftsman. After six years in that post, he went to study law at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. He undertook further training at a large Thetford law firm and went on to head their Lakenheath and Ipswich offices before starting his own law firm.
Michael is one of the founding members of the Ipswich Property Lawyers Group, ensuring good communication and cooperation between local firms.
Michael joined the British Red Cross as a volunteer 4 years ago and trained as an Emergency First Responder. Golf, sailing and archery are his current sporting interests, but not at the same time!
